Notes for Thomas Jefferson Hamilton

Received a pension from injury received in the Civil War. Application states in 1900 he resided at Tom Nolen, Webster County and had been a resident of MS for 63 years. He entered the Confederate Army 1 Aug 1862, 3rd Battalian, commanded by Capt. Irvin Burgin; Company E commanded by James Erwin. Discharged Feb 1863 for defective eyesight. Enlisted again Aug 1863, Comapny E commanded by Capt. J. C. Bookter Pergins Reg. afterwards H. L. Mullhew. Was injured by horse falling through a bridge. Command surrendered at Forsythe, GA.
