Notes for Allen S. Hamilton

Article on Allen Hamilton's death appeared in local newspaper about 1923.

"A. S. Hamilton Buried.
The body of Allen S. Hamilton, aged 45, was buried in the Fairview cemetary Monday. Mr. Hamilton resided in this county for many years but at the time of his death, which was last Friday was farming near Morgan City, Miss. He and his son and a neighbor boy were out rabbit hunting. Mr. Hamilton was picking up pecans and the two boys seeing a rabbit running by both shot. One of the guns was loaded with buckshot, though the boys did not know one of the guns was so loaded, but the buckshot struck Mr. Hamilton in the breast, proving fatal. The deceased was favorably regarded in Sunflower County, and was probably the tallest man in the county, six feet six inches tall."
