William (2) Stanard or Stannard, son of William (1) Stanard, was born about 1700, in Saybrook, and removed to Stratford with his father. The records of Stratford give the births of his children, calling him "late of Saybrook." He married Sarah, daughter of Daniel and Ruth Beardsley, of a prominent Stratford family, August 11, 1726. Children: Sarah, born March 21, 1728; Ruth, November 4, 1733; Diana, January 5, 1735-36; Mercy, April 25, 1738; William, and perhaps others.
