Benajah's children, Martha & James Walter lived with their grandfather Templin after Mary's death. Mrs. Daisy Stinnett of Chestnet Hill wrote me a letter stating that her mother told her Martha took James and ran away to live with their father, Benejah, because their grandfather Templin had remarried and his wife and other daughters were mean to Martha and Walter. Benejah raised both of them and left property to them. He lived with my grandparents James Walter and Nancy Malinda (Ketner) Proffitt after they were married.
