James Walter and Nancy sold their property and moved to Niota, McMinn County, Tennessee after Walter visited a friend and liked the looks of the land. It must have been hard for Nancy to leave her family behind and make the move. I was told by a cousin that Nancy and the younger children traveled by train to Niota and the older sons, Roy and Victor, drove wagons containing their furniture. They moved from Niota to Reagan Station in early 1919 after buying the Reagan house. This house was built before the Civil War by Mr. Reagan's ancestors. Walter built a new house next door to the old one for Nancy but she died a few months after moving, from being given too much ether during a routine surgery. Walter died three years later from a heart attack.
