Douglas,
According to Nellie Beardsley Holt's book pg. 48 Obadiah was married to Amy Calkins, their grandson Levi also confirmes this in his book "Reminiscences". Obadiah was born @@ Straford Conn., Oct. 6, 1728, died in T/O Richfield at the Family Homestead. Amy died there in 1814. They were buried by the stream near where the origianl log houses had been, in Monticello, town of Richfield, Otisco Co. NY.
"But the graveyard was later ploughed up, and the graves and headstones were obliterated"(NBH)
Obidiah was born in Straford Conn. moved with his family to Fredericksburg, Dutchess Co.,NY(now Putnam Co.,NY.) Lived at Hoosic, Rensselaer Co., NY, during the Revolutionary War, "The Battle of Bennington was fought on the family farm." (This is from Levi's book.)
In 1790 they moved west to the then Town of Monticello, now town of Richfield, Otisco Co., NY.
Obidiah Jr. and his two wives are buried behind the Presbyterian Church in Richfield Springs, NY (I have been there)
I'm looking for Jr's son Levi's date of death and where he is buried, I think it is New York City, maybe (1857).
Jim
