He married, April 8, 1840, Phebe Wood, born November 15, 1820, died February 4, 1880, daughter of Benjamin and Lodema (Wakeley) Wood, granddaughter of Amos and Phebe (Peet) Wood and of Dennis Wakeley. Amos Wood lived at Amenia, Dutchess county, New York. Benjamin Wood moved to New Lisbon, Otsego county, New York. He was born in Amenia, May 12, 1797, died in 1884. He was a farmer. His wife Lodema died in 1850. Their children: Phebe, married Erastus Beardsley, mentioned above; Elizabeth, married Eben T. Waite; Sarah Wood, married William Wagstaff.
